Technical Graduate Programme

Technology is at the heart of everything we do. It’s why clients choose us, and it offers a wealth of career opportunities to those with the commitment, passion and technical aptitude to succeed in often demanding market sectors. The rewards are well worth it – not least, the chance to learn from some of the best people in our industry as you develop your expertise.

Application Management

We live in a society where highly complex computer systems are common place. It is taken for granted that information can be shared freely across multiple systems and environments to help us with our daily lives. The same is also true for businesses’ need for information to be available when it’s wanted, in the right format. These are the demands placed upon us by our growing portfolio of national, international and multinational clients.

Have you thought about how these systems are developed? Have you considered the complexity of supporting applications that run in complex and ever changing landscapes? It’s largely down to the technical skills, knowledge and excellence of the developers who design, build, test, deliver and support these systems. That’s what the Applications Management group do.

Providing the software that powers these systems and supporting the complex array of applications is the day-to-day job of the over 900 multi-talented people who work in Application Management. We use a huge range of technologies, from Assembler, through 3rd and 4th generation programming languages, to the highly complex customisation and tailoring of third party packages. We also cover many phases of the traditional software development lifecycle, from capturing user requirements right through to end-user acceptance and client support.

A graduate placement into Application Management – which includes a mixture of on the job training, experience and formal training – will give you the knowledge and confidence to work in a fast, ever changing environment. And we have staff based in multiple sites covering much of the United Kingdom, making this an opportunity to work in varied locations with a variety of technologies.

Systems Transformation & Integration

In the world of business, companies often need to go through radical change, either to keep ahead of the competition, to be more responsive to market changes, or due to mergers and acquisitions. These goals can often only be achieved with a corresponding major change or replacement of supporting IT systems. Large-scale IT system transformation may also be triggered by a need to refresh costly, aged and creaking technology.

At CSC, helping some of the largest organisations in the world achieve their objectives is what we do. Using some of the very latest technologies, our engineers design, implement and support these new solutions, providing a great opportunity for you to understand how these companies run their businesses. As part of our team you could find yourself:
