Consulting Graduate Programme
By joining our consulting programme you will have fantastic opportunities to develop an exciting and varied career, advising and assisting clients on improving the performance of their business. We offer flexibility right from the outset of your career, enabling you to manage how you want to progress, while being supported by your managers. During the programme you will have the opportunity to work on at least three diverse assignments to discover where your true interests lie.
We welcome graduates into three consulting programmes: Business, Project Management and Systems Integration and Technology. Each one offers a unique blend of variety and challenge, and provides 24 months of structured development and the opportunity to gain exposure to both senior management and world-leading clients. However, although we offer three distinct consultancy programmes, we believe that you will gain valuable experience to enable you to become a well-rounded consultant with a focus on CSC’s aim of delivering effective IT and business solutions.
Clients typically use CSC consultants to help them achieve a strategic business vision, support corporate innovation, transform entire operating models and leverage the latest advances in new technology. Through the implementation of truly transformational IT programmes you will have the opportunity to design and integrate systems that grow the capability of our clients’ people, support new business processes, organisational structures and information technology platforms.
You’ll receive a structured course of training to development the core competencies that you require to have the best possible start to your career. In addition, there is plenty of opportunity to develop your specific interests alongside the programme through work shadowing and attendance at courses specifically relevant to your assignment. What’s more, you’ll be assigned a buddy to help you get the most out of your time on the programme, navigate your way around CSC and reach your full potential.
Business Consulting
In business consulting we’re looking for graduates who are capable of adapting to diverse and challenging assignments. You will need strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to deliver solutions that not only effectively solve our client’s problems but also help them to strategically align with their environment.
During the programme you can enjoy opportunities to move around different accounts, in a range of industries ranging from aerospace to financial services. For instance, on one assignment you could be working internally with CSC to help improve our processes, and then move on to another assignment working directly with a client to help improve their business. As a business consultant at CSC you will have exposure to diverse business challenges, ranging from business transformation and process improvement, to operational efficiency and strategy development.
Project Management Consulting
In project management consulting we’re looking for graduates who are keen to develop into strong project managers capable of delivering complex IT projects to budget, on time and to the customer’s satisfaction. During the graduate programme, you’ll undertake a series of assignments that cover the whole project lifecycle.
Over the two year programme you’ll progress from project leader support roles and roles within the Programme Management Office (PMO) in year one, through to project leader and junior project manager roles in year two. By the end of the programme, you’ll be expected to be ready to start an unsupported project management role.
Systems Integration and Technology and Consulting
In Systems Integration and Technology consulting we’re looking for graduates who are interested in working in areas throughout the Systems Development Lifecycle, from capturing requirements to delivering the final solution that meet our clients’ business goals.
The Systems Integration & Technology Consulting programme will give you exposure to our Architecture Office, the Design Team, the Development Team and the Test Team across a variety of challenging projects. For example, you may get involved in anything from designing and delivering large-scale enterprise architecture through to creating and setting up technology infrastructures and strategies.
