Consulting Graduate Programme

We recruit into three consulting graduate programmes: Business Consulting, Systems Integration and Technology Consulting and Project Management Consulting.

Each programme offers a unique blend of variety and challenge and provides at least 24 months of structured development and a unique opportunity to gain exposure to both senior management and world-leading clients.

We recognise you want a more immediate idea of where your development and career are heading, not to mention a role in which you can use your strengths straightaway. We’ve found that graduates like you are the kind who go a long way – and quickly. We need people with the ambition to scale a steep learning curve and the flexibility to embrace a culture of growth and change.

You’ll also get to work alongside some of our leading experts, and will be given the support and learning opportunities you need to become an expert in your own right.

The Consulting Graduate Programme

At CSC Global Business Solutions (GBS), we have only one asset: the talents of our people. With a culture of innovation, excellence and superior client solution delivery, at CSC we nurture and develop our people to the highest level.

By joining our Graduate Consulting Programme in GBS you will have fantastic opportunities to develop an exciting and varied career, advising and assisting clients on improving the performance of their business. Clients typically use CSC consultants to solve key strategic business issues or implement programmes of activity to solve difficult problems, for which they do not have the skills, the resources, the time, or the necessary independence to resolve.

CSC has an outstanding record of achievement, and where others have failed, we succeed. You can expect a high level of stimulation, challenge, personal satisfaction and development on every project.

CSC Consulting has significant capability across a number of areas to help companies transform their businesses:

By applying these capabilities across our key business sectors CSC was able to generate over $16.5 Billion in revenue globally in 2008:

Business Consulting

Starting out in this programme, you will gain core consulting skills across a variety of projects for clients in all sectors, making it a great place to build a solid foundation for your consulting career. During your time on the programme there really will be no limit to where or what you can work on.

You will complete a minimum of 3 assignments over the 24 month period, with each of the assignments lasting anything between 3 and 9 months.

CSC offers flexibility right from the outset of your career, enabling you to manage how you want to progress, whilst being supported by your managers. You can enjoy opportunities to move around geographically for different accounts, working internally with CSC to help improve the way the company runs one week and the next be out on a client site working with their staff to help deliver a project. A key advantage of the programme is that it allows you to rotate onto different assignments to discover where your interest lies.

All graduates will receive a structured course of training to provide them with the best start. In addition, there is much opportunity to develop your specific interests alongside the programme and graduates are strongly encouraged to strengthen their development by work shadowing and attending courses specifically relevant to their assignment project. Each graduate will be assigned a personal development manager, a mentor and a buddy to help them get the most out of their time on the programme, navigate their way around CSC and reach their full potential.

Systems Integration and Technology Consulting

CSC in Europe has a strong heritage and expertise in systems integration. This has allowed us to develop a combination of an in-depth understanding of architectural frameworks and strong IT delivery management skills pulled together from best practice across the globe. This exceptional capability has been industrialised and embedded in our new systems integration factory. The capability has been enhanced by the addition of our Portfolio Management services and Service-oriented Architecture thought leadership.

The solutions that we offer to are not a single plain one size fits all service offering, but are tuned to the specific client’s business needs, drawing from the range of service families contained within Systems Transformation. We’ve worked with clients such as the NHS, Zurich, SKAT, and Royal Mail to deliver value in this area.

Through the delivery of systems transformations, CSC can offer graduates opportunities to work with IT systems that underpin business change, coupled with an architecture that leverages existing systems investments. Global Business Solutions technology consultants help clients accomplish this transformation by combining deep systems integration knowledge with industry proven, value-adding consultancy.

Those graduates with more specialist implementation and technical skills support CSC in remaining at the forefront of the design and delivery of innovative technical solutions, covering everything from designing and delivering large-scale enterprise architecture, to creating and setting technology infrastructures and strategies.

The 24 month Systems Integration Technology Consulting programme will give you exposure you to our Architecture Office, the Design team, the Development team and the Test team across a variety of challenging projects. The aim will be to ensure that you develop comprehensive experience across the software lifecycle through several projects, each lasting between 4-6 months. Graduates will be offered the opportunity to study for a professional qualification linked to their chosen discipline.

Project Management

We are looking for graduates who are keen to develop into strong project and programme managers capable of delivering complex IT projects to budget, on time and to the customer’s satisfaction. Successful applicants will undertake a series of assignments, covering project initiation through to execution and closure.

Our aim is to develop a core of highly skilled, highly motivated professionals with a blend of technical, practical, academic and business skills equipped to gain industry accreditations and be key players in the long-term future of our business. Through the 24 months you will progress from project leader support roles and roles within the Programme Management Office (PMO) in year one, to project leader and junior project manager roles in year two. By the end of the 24 month programme you’ll be ready to start an unsupported project management role.
